HempMeds® Brasil Partners with ANUC Patient Organization

MJNA subsidiary HempMeds® Brasil is partnering with the non-profit institution, National Association of Users on Cannabidiol to further education and access around CBD.
In an effort to further educate doctors and patients in Brazil about cannabidiol (CBD), Medical Marijuana, Inc. subsidiary HempMeds® Brasil is joining efforts with the National Association of Users of Cannabidiol (ANUC), a Brazil-based non-profit organization dedicated to assisting patients regarding the use of CBD.
HempMeds® Brasil: Providing Legal CBD to Brazil
MJNA subsidiary HempMeds® Brasil is the first company to offer legal medical cannabis products to the people of Brazil. Since 2014, the company’s full-spectrum CBD hemp oil product Real Scientific Hemp Oil (RSHO) has been legal to import as a prescription medication with full subsidization by the Brazilian government.
HempMeds® Brasil has supported access to CBD in Brazil from its beginning in 2014, actively participating in the campaign to educate Brazilians and generate public support for CBD.
Since then, HempMeds® Brasil has become the country’s most trusted distributor of CBD oil products. The company now has three cannabis products that have been approved by Brazil’s federal health authority, ANVISA, for importation, and works closely with patients and their doctors to streamline the import process.
ANUC: Assisting Patients in Brazil Around CBD
Established earlier this year, ANUC connects patients in Brazil with cannabis-friendly physicians and educates the Brazilian medical community on CBD.
The non-profit organization also:
Assists patients interested in importing CBD to navigate through the ANVISA import authorization process
Encourages CBD education by hosting events and lectures related to the cannabinoid
Provide legal advice to patients seeking government subsidies
Raises funds through donations to provide CBD products to those facing financial hardships

Great Potential in Partnership
HempMeds® Brasil’s partnership with ANUC is an important step in furthering legal access to CBD, a non-psychoactive cannabis-derived compound derived that interacts with the body’s naturally occurring systems. Their joined efforts could further improve understanding around CBD among Brazil’s medical community and patients, and even potentially open avenues for future clinical studies on CBD and its effects.
“In partnership with ANUC, we may be closer to those Brazilian families who need CBD and we are excited about the possibility of joining efforts to continue educating doctors and patients,” said Caroline Heinz, Director of Operations at HempMeds® Brazil.
ANUC President Franklin Vargas has a niece in Brazil who has been importing RSHO for the past three years.
“This is a historic initiative,” Vargas said. “We are working together to change thoughts, deconstruct barriers, and help others. This is amazing.”
