The Cannabis World Congress & Business Expo (CWCBE) returns to New York’s Javits Convention Center on May 29 to June 1. Here’s a list of CWCBE highlights as well as other events on the New York Cannabis Week schedule.
May 28
• New York’s largest monthly networking event, CannaGather, will focus on “The Power of the Brand,” with Sally Parker Nichols from Bloom Farms Distribution and David Heldreth from True Terpenes.

• Women Grow NYC is hosting the official Cannabis Week Welcome Party. This schmooze event will feature a beer and wine happy hour from 6-7 pm and hors d’oeuvres from 6-9 pm.

May 29
• The first day of the CWCBE features a four-hour seminar, “How to Purchase or Open a Cannabis Business,” led by Chloe Villano and Adam Dunn from Clover Leaf University and Jaime Lewis from Coldwater Consulting and Mountain Medicine.

• Curved Papers is hosting the NORML FORML, a fundraiser for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. There will be speeches by Joy Beckerman, David Holland, Joseph Bondy and David Heldreth; music by Jeff NYC Funk and Gus Fafalios and Roger DeBonis; and an art installation by Jacob Wheeler.

• Another fundraiser, this one for Minorities for Medical Marijuana, will feature a screening of Fab 5 Freddy’s pot doc, Grass Is Greener, followed by a panel discussion.

• The second in a series of Brooklyn events presented by Women Grow NYC, Continuing the Cannabis Conversation will feature a panel discussion focusing on starting a business or getting a job in the marijuana industry.

May 30
Javits Convention Center on 11th Ave. at 34 St. in New York
• The CWCBE officially opens to all attendees. Steve White from Harvest Health & Recreation will deliver the conference keynote (Room 1A13, 10:30 am) and panel discussions will take place throughout the day. More than 160 companies will be exhibiting on the convention floor. A networking mixer will be held on site from 5-6:30 pm.

• CWCBE attendees are invited to head over to Hudson Terrace (621 W. 46 St.) for a rooftop afterparty hosted by Pistil Point Cannabis, Fab 5 Freddy, Chloe Villano and Danny Danko from High Times and from 5-10 pm.
May 31
• The second full CWCBE day, open to all attendees, offers a diverse lineup of seminars, presentations and panel discussions, including “Hemp: The Dawning of a New Day in the USA” (Room 1A10, 9 am-12 pm, $200), “Cannabis Bootcamp for Seasoned Investors” (Room 1A03, 1-6 pm, $500), a conversation with Bruce Linton from Canopy Growth (Room 1A13, 12-1 pm) and “The Legalization of Cannabis & Future Business Opportunities in New York and New Jersey (Room 1A12, 3-3:50 pm).

• The CWCBE concludes with a seminar – “Clinical & Therapeutic Applications of Medical Cannabis,” Room 1A03. 7:30 am-4:30 pm, $500) – and a number of panel discussions, including “How the Media & Public Relations Influences the Cannabis Industry” (Room 1A12, 2-2:50 pm).
