Oregon Retailers Of Cannabis Association Publish Final Newsletter Of 2019
ORCA Newsletter
December 2019
On behalf of the ORCA staff and our board of directors, Please have a happy holidays and a marvelous New Year!
This will be our last newsletter of 2019 – and what a year it has been!
We’re coming off the heels of one the most successful legislative sessions we’ve experienced since our formation – and we managed to pass one of the most historic pieces of legislation in Oregon cannabis history with the Export Bill!
And to close the year out, there was our extraordinarily successful Holiday Party just a couple of weeks ago, where holiday cheer was spread far and wide! We were thrilled to see so many of our friends, old and new, that were able to join us.
There’s a lot more that we’ve been up to this month, and that we’ve got coming up early on in the new year, so let’s get right to it!
STOMPING OUT PROHIBITION
(ORCA Holiday Party!)
Thank you to each and every one of you who came out and contributed to the 2nd Annual Stomping out Prohibition Party on December 6th! By all accounts, it was a huge success – with over 400 attendees, great live music, crafts, activities, food & Drink, BYOC, and of course The Grow-off Awards Ceremony.
We had an absolute blast, and we can’t wait to see you all again next year!
Special thanks to our major sponsors and partners – We could not have done it with out you!

OLCC Licensing: As of December 9th, 2019, Oregon has 2235 active licenses, a total decrease of licenses by 1 since we last reported this Nov. 18th. This totals to -1 Labs, 0 Processors, 1 Farm, 0 Retailers, and -1 Wholesalers.
There are now a total of 49,684 active worker permits – an increase of 575.
OLCC Market Trends: Oregon’s cannabis economy is continuing to expand and thrive. As has been a trend for several years now, we have seen a decrease in sales in the last couple of months of the year. However, we are still way above last year’s sales – with October bringing in about $14,000,000 more and November bringing in about $13,000,000 more than in 2018.
Currently Oregon’s Cannabis industry has generated about $720,000,000 in sales so far this year (not counting December), and we are on track to generate over 770,000,000 in total sales this year! Congratulations, Everyone!
This is an outstanding achievement. That means we are now responsible for nearly $150 million in annual tax revenue – a major economic force reckoned with!
