10 things to know about cannabis on Guam
Who can use?: Responsible adults, 21 years old and over. Source Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, section 8103 and Title 9 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 70, sections 70.44.4 and 70.53.
How much can I have on me or in my vehicle?: One oz. (28 grams) of less of dried flower, eight (8) grams or less of cannabis concentrate, or any cannabis-infused products containing 800 mg or less of THC. Source: Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, Section 8103 (a).
Can I grow cannabis?: Cultivation is allowed on private property in a completely enclosed area and must be out of public sight. You can grow up to a maximum of six (6) plants but are limited to three (3) mature flowering plants and three (3) plants that are still in a vegetative stage. Source: Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, Section 8103 (b).
Can I buy or sell cannabis?: As of November 5, 2019, retail or bartering is prohibited but can be gifted up to 1 oz. See Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, Sections 8110 and Chapter 9, Section 9107.
Where can I smoke?: Smoking or consuming of cannabis is permitted on private property with owner’s permission. Public consumption is prohibited and is punishable by law. Source: Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, Sections 8105 and 8118.
Can I smoke and drive?: No. (Driving) under the influence of cannabis is considered impaired driving and is punishable by law. Source: Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 9, Section 8112 (d).
How does this affect your job?: Please see your employer’s policy regarding recreational cannabis. However, the government of Guam is still a drug free work place. See Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, Section 8112 (f).
Can I travel with it?: No. Marijuana is still an illegal drug under federal law and is not allowed on federal property. See Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, Section 8115.
Can I import or export marijuana?: No. Marijuana is still an illegal drug under federal law and cannot be mailed. See Title 11 of Guam Code Annotated, Chapter 8, Section 8115.
