UK: Brighton CBD / Hemp Restaurant Remains Closed Whilst Taking Legal Advice

The UK’s first cannabis restaurant has closed until further notice while its owners take legal advice.
Canna Kitchen was raided last Wednesday and police seized a substantial amount of herbal cannabis, which the owners said was industrial hemp.
The Head Life headshop in London Road and a home in North Place were also raided by police officers assisted by trading standards.
A 36-year-old woman arrested at North Place was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class B drugs – reportedly CBD flowers and oil – and released the following day under police investigation.
A man was also voluntarily interviewed under police caution.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the Duke Street restaurant said: “Dear customers and friends.
“As you may be aware our premises was raided by Sussex police on Wednesday. Products and equipment were seized.
“We are still coming to terms with this incident and have taken the decision to close while we take further legal advice.
“We have been overwhelmed with the show of support and are hugely appreciative of all the messages of solidarity we have received. We will keep you updated as things develop.
“Thank you for your support.”
