That means a quarter of the U.S. population would live in a place where recreational weed is allowed, and two-thirds of Americans would live in a place where medical pot is allowed, according to Vivien Azar, an analyst who covers cannabis, beverages, and tobacco at Cowen & Co. Marijuana remains illegal under federal law.”
