The Girl Scouts might want to think about changing from their motto from “To Serve God and my Country,” as they serve cookies to marijuana dispensary customers. It seems that marijuana legalization could be the best thing to happen to the Girl Scouts leading fundraiser. Enterprising young ladies have found out that all they have to do to tip the scales of cookie-slinging commerce is set up shop in front of their friendly neighborhood marijuana dispensary. It’s not rocket science. Thin Mints, Samoas and Toffe-tastics is kryptonite for the super high.

Most Girl Scouts in the San Diego area plan to give their sales pitch in front of grocery stores and other traditional retail outlets. But one of their courageous sisters took a chance last week, peddling munchie merchandise in front of a pot dispensary. Turns out, the idea was a stroked a sheer genius. The little lady sold over 300 boxes of Girl Scout cookies in around six hours, according to local reports.
Urban Leaf posted a photo to Instagram on Friday showing the forward-thinking Girl Scout holding several boxes of cookies. The company encouraged its customers to stop in and take advantage. Of course, not before asking them to pick up a few grams of “GSC — the strain formerly known as Girl Scout Cookies.
Girl Scout Booths In Front of Marijuana Dispensaries Is Nothing New
This is not the first time a Girl Scout has set up in front of a cannabis dispensary. In 2014, Danielle Lei made international headlines after selling hundreds of boxes outside a San Fransisco dispensary. What would have taken her four days to sell at other spots, took only a few hours. The young scout enjoyed so much success that she followed the same business plan the following year.
This sales technique has been mimicked in other legal marijuana states. At least for those scouts with parents cool enough to engage in post-cannabis commerce with the high and hungry. But the practice of ticking the pot consumer’s ravenous appetite has been banned in some areas. Girl Scouts of America Colorado prohibit their young ladies from selling cookies in front of cannabis dispensaries. The organization took to its Twitter account shortly after the news of Lei’s success swept the nation. “If you are wondering, we don’t allow our Girl Scouts to sell cookies in front of marijuana shops or liquor stores/bars.”
Final Hit: Girl Scout Sells Over 300 Boxes Of Cookies Outside Dispensary
But the concept of selling Girl Scout cookies outside dispensaries has not been a problem in most legal states. In fact, the Girl Scouts of the USA told High Times that it does not have a policy against scouts from selling cookies in front of establishments where marijuana is sold. But rather, each region makes “all decisions on how the cookie program is run. As always, our primary concern is the safety and well-being of the girls we serve.”
So if Republicans, Christians or even Satanists are running your local Girl Scout troop, chances are cookies sales and marijuana dispensaries are not going to mix. Sadly, people were once frightened that cannabis consumers would get their children addicted to marijuana. Now that marijuana is legal, there is more of a chance that Girl Scouts will get us hooked on cookies. But we’re not complaining.
